Pilgrims who come to the city to seek the blessings of Siva, Indian groups and foreign tourists are also very common. For more than one occasion for a walk or family picnic, there are muddy uphill routes on both sides of the tree cover. The steep peaks in the shallow sea enable the adventure junkies to climb rocks. Around the serene beaches is bird and animal life abundant. A crash course in Yoga at Gokarna Beach, it’s also a perfect way to spend the morning. The Gokarna Beach lies at the edge of the town of the temple for a few kilometres. Its stunning areas of sand and pristine places have recently made it famous as a beach destination. The local people hardly frequented the beaches of Gokarna until international visitors thronged the sea. A lot of local residents soon opened shops with souvenirs, unique cafes and beach shacks. It is unique to walk along the coastline as many cafes and shacks are to be found and here is the hippy community of Gokarna.

Kudle Beach

The beach is normally abandoned except for the peak months between November and February when international visitors and backpackers chose to be on Kudle beach for their privacy. The sea is cool and shallow enough to swim or just dip your feet, but you can really be more vigilant. There are a few good hotels that are usually packed during the peaking seasons if you intend to remain here overnight. The local population, however, set up temporary shacks and huts for improved shelter and food from about October to March. The main bus stand of Gokarna, approximately one kilometre away, is 15 Minutes’ walk from the beach of Kudle. The tourists will take a car from there, but from the drop-off point, there is a fair distance to the beach. Boats and ferries can also be booked at a distance of 10 minutes from Om Beach in the neighbourhood. The beach Kudle is only a short walk from Om Beach. The beach is one of several beaches of Gokarna. This beach provides a total recluse to experience an unstoppable and peaceful environment, a stroll along the coast or just relax and watch tides. Many local people choose this beach to stroll or practise yoga in the morning or in the evening since Kudle Beach is not invaded by big numbers of visitors.

Paradise Beach

Paradise Beach can only be reached on other islands, the Half Moon Beach and Om Beach. The beach can be reached by road only. Visitors must book a motorboat to Paradise Beach from either of the above-mentioned beaches. After a short walk from Half Moon Beach, you can hit this beach too. It’s not more than 20 minutes to reach you this way. Because of the marijuana trade, Paradise Beach used to be regarded as the hot site for all the hippies. Both these antisocial practises, shacks, and all sorts of economic activities were banned here as soon as the Government was aware of this. During the night, small troops of foreign travellers can always be found here, camped and cooked. Freshwater is available on the beach making it an excellent place for camping. It is clean and safe to drink the water from this well. Swimming is very fun, but the presence of very strong winds makes swimming further off the shore dangerous. In the neighbouring areas, visitors can also appreciate local cuisine. The fourth shore on Gokarna City’s coast, Paradise Beach is also known as ‘Full Moon Beach.’ The beach is about 150 m long and nearly 70 per cent of the beach is completely surrounded by rocks, located in Karnataka state. There’s clean white sand right over the remainder of the resort. There are not many water sports so here is a perfect way to regenerate the mind and body by floating in the calm wats. The peaceful surroundings of the beach provide an ideal place to spend time in the lap and to find solace.

The outline of Om Beach derives its name from two semi crescents united. A number of travellers are attracted by the unusual black rock formation. On this gorgeous beach, you can spot fishing boats, little cafés, restaurants and crows whirling high in the sky. The attractiveness of this beach forces many people to pass the region of danger (which is indicated with red) and play in the waves. This spot is a paradise for all shutterhuts in the middle of the rocky field. Om beach is a magnificent beach in Gokarna city. Shaped like the ‘Om’ sign, this beach provides thrillers with many adventurous activities. During sunset, the view of this beach is still worthy of mention. It is typically bordered by shacks that sell affordable housing and foreign restaurants. A number of exciting water events, including speedboats, sailing etc. are also accessible on Om Beach. Here even visitors can enjoy boating.

The Temple of Mahabaleshwar, constructed by the Dravidian architecture style, dates back to the 4th century CE. It is Lord Shiva devoted and is also called Dakshin Kashi (Kasi of the South). This is one of the major temples in Gokarna as pilgrims are given enormous blessings, according to their belief, who visit this structure or even gain a glimpse of it. Before entering the camp, devotees first dive a few steps away from the beach of Karwar City to purify themselves. The temple of Mahabaleshwara deserves a special mention when we speak of the top places to see in Gokarna. In this Temple, which is made of white granite and has 6 foot Shiva Linga and 1500 years old carved Lord Shiva idol, you can find classical Dravidian architecture. The splendour of this temple is so enticing that it can be found by devout people as well as others.
