Arijit Singh (born April 25, 1987) is an Indian singer-composer. He primarily sings in Hindi and Bengali, but he has also performed in a number of other Indian languages. He has received a National Award as well as a record six Filmfare Awards. He is frequently considered as one of the top singers in the Indian and Pakistani music industry, and he has a large fan base across South Asia. He is often referred to as the “King of Playback Singing.”

Singh began his career in 2005 when he appeared on the reality show Fame Gurukul, but he did not achieve broad fame until the release of “Tum Hi Ho” and “Chahun Main Ya Naa” in 2013.

He was declared the most-streamed Indian artist of 2020 and 2021 by Spotify. He is the most followed Asian soloist on Spotify

Tum Hi Ho is an Indian Hindi-language song sung by Arijit Singh from the 2013 Indian film Aashiqui 2. Mithoon penned and wrote the songs for Tum Hi Ho. It was released by Bhushan Kumar under T-Series and starred Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor.

It became successful, remaining in the top 10 of Planet Bollywood for eight weeks and capturing the first spot on MTV India’s Top 20 for seven weeks. ‘Tum hi ho,’ a romantic number featuring Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, is featured on the album.

Mithoon had earlier recorded the song using Arijit’s voice two years before its original release. The title single ‘Tum Hi Ho,’ sung by Arijit Singh from ‘Aashiqui 2,’ became a major hit on YouTube within 10 days of its release. Within 10 days of its release, it had received 1,852,947 likes.

T-series released a preview for the song on March 23. Mahesh Bhatt directed the remake of the 1990 movie ‘Aashiqui,’ which starred Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal in the original.

Channa Mereya is one of JioSaavn’s all-time favourite songs. The song peaked at number 20 on the Radio Mirchi Top 20 Countdown list and stayed there for 5 months, ending up at number 9 on the Radio Mirchi Top 100 Countdown chart at the end of the year.

Within three days of its release, the song had over 20 million views.

The song’s music video was officially launched on 6 February 2014, via Multi Screen Media’s YouTube account, and was dubbed the “Valentine song of the year.”

On February 13, 2014, it was distributed through additional distribution label partners. The whole song, along with other tracks from the album, was released on February 24, 2014. The song was the film’s first single to be released.
