Darjeeling Himalayan railway
Darjeeling Himalayan Railway is one of the best places to visit in Darjeeling. It has 2 feet narrow train track that covers the distance between Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling. It has an 88 km long railway station which is famous for its toy train. The construction of this place starts in 1879 and is completed in 1881. This place is declared as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1999. Don’t forget to ride on a toy train. It gives the best experience of this place. The entry fee on this place is INR 600 for a diesel engine ride and INR 1000 for a steam engine ride. You can visit here between 8 Am to 12 PM.
Tigger Hill
Tigger Hill is the most famous mountain peak in Darjeeling. It is famous for its trekking and view of Mount Everest and Kanchenjunga. It is interesting to know that this place is declared as a UNESCO World Heritage site as well as the highest railway station in Darjeeling. The best time to visit here is between October to December in winter and between February to April in autumn. There is no entry fee for this place but you have to book a cab to the hill which ranges from INR 1200 -1800.
Darjeeling Rangeet Valley Ropeway
The beautiful valley of Darjeeling best seen via ropeway. You can enjoy the landscape, verdant tea estates, lush green forests, mountain peaks of Everest and Kanchenjunga, flora and fauna, etc here. The ropeway start in 1968. 16 cable cars carry 6 people in one ride. It travels from North Point in Singamari to the Singla Bazaar. The entry fee is INR 200 for adults and INR 100 for children between 3 years to 8 years. You can visit here between 10 AM to 4 PM during winter and monsoon.
Rimbik
Rimbik is a small town which is located in Singalila national park in Darjeeling. The place is famous for trekking. The best time to visit here is during spring to winter between March to November. Don’t forget to visit The Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, and Dhirdham temple. This is the most visited place in Rimbik.
Rock Garden
Rock Garden is one of the best places to visit in Darjeeling. It is an artificial garden whose beauty is seen by waterfalls, green hills, flora, and fauna, etc. This is also a most visited attraction of tourism because you can spend your time and do many things here. The divided view of this place is Chunar waterfall. The place is full of green valleys and different flowers throughout the summer. The entry fee for Indians is INR 10 and INR 50 for foreigners. The place is open all days between 10 AM to 4 PM.
Nightingale Park
Nightingale Park is one of the most visited places for tourism in Darjeeling. The place is famous for its greenery areas which give your mind peace and relax from a day-to-day busy schedule. St Andrew Church
If you want to visit some architecture and spiritual sites then this place is best for you. It is one of the most popular places for tourism. This Church was hit by an earthquake but got renovated in 1873. There is no entry fee to visit this place. You can visit here on Sunday only from 9 a.m during March to November
and from December to February 9:30 Am.
Happy valley tea estate
This place is spread over 437 acres. It is one of the most attractive attractions of tourism. This place is home to tea factories all over the world. The tea factory was established in 1854. The fragrance of tea leaves makes you fall in love with this place. The entry charge is INR 100 per person. You can visit here between 8 AM to 4 PM from Tuesday to Saturday.
Observatory hill
Observatory Hill is known as a Hindu and Buddhist temple. Some of the temples are Mahakal Temple, Tibetan Memorial Shrine, and Kanchenjunga Temple. The place attracts many tourists due to the trekking road of this place. Don’t forget to visit ok which is located 15 km away from this hill. This place is one of the oldest sites of Darjeeling. There is no entry fee for the visitor. You can visit here between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day.
Himalayan mountaineering institute
Himalayan mountaineering institute was established on 4 November 1954. The main aim of this institute is to encourage the interest of the people in mountaineering sport. This institute is best for mountaineering sports in Darjeeling. Currently, The institute has trained 50,000 students out of which 20,000 belong from other countries. The institute is surrounded by the peak of Kanchenjunga which makes this place more beautiful. The entry fee for the visitor is INR 40 per person. You can visit here between 9 AM to 1 PM and 2 PM to 5 PM and it remains close on Tuesday.
