IMDB continues to be one of the most common movie databases on the internet. Their top-rated films list is made up of films that have earned millions of ratings. Although the list is constantly evolving, the top films have remained relatively constant for many years. Check out IMDb’s list of the best movies of all time.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)

 Director Jackson keeps things moving forward at all times. The acting and casting are generally excellent — particularly Ian McKellen and Viggo Mortensen — and my admiration for Sean Bean’s performance grows with each viewing. The New Zealand landscape appears to be well suited to the film’s settings. The list goes on and on with acting, casting, music, production standards, costuming, effects, and so on. All were executed flawlessly. However, the most critical aspect is that the films closely match the books in tone and content. With a few notable exceptions, the films are an excellent reflection of the books and are more faithful to the source material than the vast majority of film adaptations.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966)

This is a film that will go down in cinematic history as a classic Western. It’s a one-of-a-kind western with a special storyline. Clint Eastwood, Eli Wallach, and Lee Van Cleef, the three stars, all give outstanding performances. The storey is enthralling, and you’ll be wondering how it will end until the very end. When the weather isn’t too harsh, the scenery is simply stunning. The film is packed with a variety of situations, all of which are connected in some way. This is a must-see film for anyone who has ever seen a film, and a must-see for Clint Eastwood fans. The music is fascinating, and the theme is still performed in a variety of venues today. It’s a well-known ring for mobile phones. I can’t say enough good things about this film. I’ve seen it many times, and each time it gets more interesting.

Pulp Fiction (1994)

Even though classics can’t be reviewed, I won’t say anything about the film other than that it’s one of the most darkly comedic and/or comically dark films you’ll ever see. It’s fast-paced, hilarious, tragic, razor-sharp, and surreal. In a nutshell, it’s unrivalled, and you should watch it because you won’t realise how deprived you’ve been so far. Quentin Tarantino created a film with a constant undercurrent of violence that maintains “strong dramatic suspense” throughout, as in, who would be the next person to be “blown away,” and for what inexplicable reason? Then add a strong dose of substance addiction, which can be overcome only by injecting a syringe full of adrenaline directly into the heart.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)

This is a fantastic soundtrack, with breathtakingly beautiful music and excellent singing from Ben del Maestro, Renee Fleming, and Annie Lennox, culminating in a dazzling finale. It also has a few surprises. There are also appearances by Billy Boyd and Viggo Mortensen, as well as some stunning flute performances by Sir James Galway. Knowing how the book progresses, I expected this to be darker, almost sad, but the soundtrack has traces of the past. Themes from both The Fellowship and The Two Towers are interwoven here as well, moving this listener to tears in some areas.

Schindler’s List (1993)

Steven Spielberg directed the film Schindler’s List in 1993. It takes place in Poland between 1939 and 1945 and is about the Holocaust, during which millions of Jews across Europe were rounded up, starving, forced to work without pay, hunted down, deported to concentration camps, and systematically murdered. Besides being historically accurate and based on a true storey, the storey is an accurate portrayal of the Holocaust due to the way the characters are humanised. It’s not enough to be sad or dramatic just for the sake of being sad or dramatic. The aim of this film is not to entertain, but to tell a terrible storey that needs to be told.

12 Angry Men (1957)

The film 12 Angry Men is still as true today as it was back in 1957. I’m not going to give anything away for those who haven’t seen it yet are in for a treat. I would say that all of the actors’ performances are powerful and calculated, and each character has their own personality that is developed in a short amount of screen time, something that modern filmmakers struggle with. The film is viewed in its original 1.66:1 aspect ratio from the theatre. The way it was shot and intended to be seen. As a result, it has black bars on the sides of the screen to protect all of the image data.

 

The Dark Knight (2008)

I’m not a huge fan of Christian Bale, but he does such a good job in this film of being his character that you forget he’s him and just sees him as the character he’s playing, which he does a fantastic job with. Heath Ledger, without a doubt, steals the show with his darkly mesmerising depiction of a truly terrifying Joker – the only Joker in any Batman adaptation I’ve ever found truly terrifying (or anything at all other than silly or funny with the previous versions). And it’s this darkness that makes Nolan’s Gotham so great in this film – it’s dark, gritty, and murky, and it feels heavy and undefined as both good and bad forces attempt to exploit the city and its citizens to pursue the right reality – There is genuine tension in the film, and both Ledger and Bale, as well as their supporting cast, manage it brilliantly and realistically.

 

The Godfather: Part II (1974)

While Pacino’s performance is excellent, I believe De Niro’s portrayal of a young Vito Corleone to be the film’s highlight. Parallel plots, cycles of beginnings, ends, and new beginnings and solid, individualistic character arcs for a large number of characters combine to create a rich storey full of tension, suspense, and mystery.

 

The Godfather (1972)

The Godfather is regarded as the pinnacle of American mafia films. It was a masterpiece by Francis Ford Coppola. Vito Corleone, the mafia godfather played by Marlon Brando, became an iconic character. It was also one of Al Pacino’s most well-known performances. It includes memorable scenes such as a Hollywood mogul waking up in his bed with the head of his favourite home. It’s all capped off by one of cinema’s best depictions of vengeance and payback. The cost of electricity was the central theme. This is a timeless classic that has stood the test of time. It is a must-see for anyone who enjoys gangster films.

 

The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

The Shawshank Redemption follows Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins), who is serving two life terms in Shawshank Prison. He was supported by two factors. One was the group of friends he encountered led by Red (Morgan Freeman) (Morgan Freeman). The other was his determination to have complete control of his life. Robbins and Freeman put on two incredible and understated shows. The movie revolves around their relationship.
