Bollywood is arguably the highest-grossing movie industry going strong against the American film industry known as Hollywood. Many actors and actresses have been groomed in the Bollywood industry and have made a big name for themselves through their impeccable acting skills. The glamor and pride bar of Bollywood has been set by the actresses who mesmerized the audience with their beauty.
Here we are going to list out the top 10 most beautiful actresses in Bollywood.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Aishwarya began modeling at an early age after being born into a typical south Indian household. This green-blue-eyed beauty starred in advertising for a variety of famous companies, including the garden sari and the Pepsi ad. Miss India runner-up in 1994, she was a hot favorite in the race for Miss World, which she won, and her beauty and personality made her India’s sweetheart.
Ash burst into the Indian film business, where she established herself as a remarkable and honest actor. Her portrayal in Iruvar (1997) received critical praise, and she was named Screen’s finest female debutante for her work in…Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya (1997). [Source: Imdb]
She was acclaimed in films like Taal (1999), Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999), and Devdas (2002), and her top-notch dancing skills in ‘Bunty & Bubbly’ sent rhythm waves over the country. With popular Bollywood films and major Hollywood projects on the horizon, it is difficult to overlook this Indian queen on international stages.
Rekha Ganesan
On October 10, 1954, Bhanurekha was born in the Tamil-speaking Ganesan home. Her father was the well-known Tamil actor Gemini, while her mother was the well-known Telugu actress Pushpavalli. She is the youngest of seven sisters and one brother.
Dr. Kamala Selvaraj is one of her sisters, while another, Radha, resides in San Francisco with her son Naveed, who is preparing to star in Bollywood films. Because of her upbringing, she grew up to be a gloomy and pessimistic person.
She did get her debut in 1970 alongside Sawan Bhadon but was overshadowed due to her complexion and the inability to speak Hindi. She decided to take matters seriously, began practicing Yoga, lost weight, learned Hindi and dance, and thus was born a new and much improved Rekha – who went on to deliver one box office hit after another, including Nagin (1976), Muqaddar Ka Sikandar (1978), Mr. Natwarlal (1979), Khubsoorat (1980), Umrao Jaan (1981), Khoon Bhari Maang (1988), and others.
In her later years, she took on character parts and played a mother and even a grandma in Krrish (2006). Her tiny, slender appearance drew many admirers, including well-known Bollywood stars Kiran Kumar, Jeetendra, Vinod Mehra, and Amitabh Bachchan. She denied a long-standing allegation that she was once married to Vinod Mehra in a televised interview with Simi Garewal in 2004. [Source: Wiki]
Hema Malini
Hema Chakravarthy was born on October 16, 1948, in Ammankudi, Tamil Nadu, to a Tamil-speaking family. After appearing as a dancer in a regional film in 1961, she was rejected by Tamil director C.V.Sridhar during her first try at acting in 1964 on the grounds that she was too thin to play the heroine in Venniradai, and the part went to Venniradai Nirmala. Later, Hema appeared as a supporting actor in the song Singara Therukku Selai, sung by Seergazhi Govindarajan and L.R.Eshwari from the 1963 Tamil film Idhu Sathiyam, starring S.A.Asokan.
Although Hema persevered, making her film debut with Raj Kapoor in ‘Sapnon Ka Saudagar’ barely four years after her rejection, the film was a disappointment.
After then, there was no turning back for this handsome Libran, who went on to feature in over 155 films, produce and direct two films, and direct a TV series called ‘Noopur.’
Hema is a member of the right-wing Bharatiya Janata Party and was elected to the Rajya Sabha, India’s upper chamber of parliament.
Crowned with the name “Dream Girl”, she was one of the first actresses to wear bell-bottoms and shirts in Hindi films, and she is also one of the few who has followed their promise of not wearing any exposing costumes in public. [Source: Imdb]
Madhuri Dixit Nene
Madhuri Dixit is one of the most well-known actresses and Kathak dancers in Bollywood. Born into a Marathi Brahmin Koknastha family, she did well in her studies and desired to be a Microbiologist, which led her to study the subject at Mumbai’s Sathaye College, then known as Parle College; however, she dropped out after six months to seek a career in Bollywood.
Though she made her debut in 1984 with ‘Abodh,’ it was with ‘Tezaab,’ a romantic thriller starring Anil Kapoor, that she rose to prominence. With this picture, she received her first Filmfare Best Actress nomination, and it was also the biggest earning film of the year.
Her performance in ‘Ek Do Tin’ made every heartbeat to the song’s rhythms. During this period, Madhuri was also featured on Debonair and was the cover girl for the 1986 Filmfare issue. She has now graced more than 72 films with her magnificent performances.
She was also given the coveted ‘Bharat Ratna’ by the Government of India in 2008 for her contribution to Indian film. Dixit received the Filmfare Special Award in 2011 for her 25-year career in the film business. Dixit made her television debut as a presenter for India’s first reality program Kahin Na Kahin Koi Hai on Sony TV, which was followed by Jhalak Dikhla Ja and Dance Deewane.
Madhuri Dixit made her Marathi film debut in 2018 as both a performer and a producer. She starred in ‘Bucket List,’ and she produced “15th August,” which will be broadcast on Netflix globally in 2019. She also provided her voice for the Netflix original ‘Mowgli.’
Katrina Kaif
Despite her linguistic limitations, Katrina puts on a brave front and claims that other Bollywood stars, such as Sridevi, who did not speak Hindi, received offers from Bollywood filmmakers, and she is no exception.
To blend in with the Bollywood milieu, she has taken Hindi and dance classes. She loves to show a photo of herself learning Kathak dancing, where she used to dance nonstop for 7 hours a day. She is not done with South Indian films; she has been cast in the Tamil film ‘Bheema,’ alongside National Award Winner Vikram.
She garnered positive feedback for her role in “Maine Pyar Kyon Kiya,” as well as a brief cameo in “Sarkar.”
Katrina had made Mumbai her home, didn’t mind singing and dancing around trees, and as a result is now one of Bollywood’s biggest mega-stars, possibly one of the highest-paid female-lead actresses, and a crowd-puller whenever she appears for a live song and dance number.

Sushmita surprised everyone when she was named Miss India, while Aishwarya had to settle for First Runner-up.
Both ladies went on to win the Miss Universe and Miss World crowns. Sushmita’s last Miss Universe costume was designed by a little-known Meena Bazar dressmaker and her mother.
She initially featured as herself in a Bollywood film titled ‘Dastak’ in 1996. Despite the fact that the film did not do well, she was discovered and so began her career on the big screen. She has now represented herself in a variety of roles, including some sizzling performances.
