And in our new, hyper-competitive world, status is everything. Particularly for some of today’s high society’s men and women.

Antilia

Antilia, the residence of billionaire Mukesh Ambani, elicits both contempt and reverence. Regardless of the reactions, the 40-story structure built by Chicago-based Perkins and Will in partnership with Leighton Holdings is not only the largest residence, but also the second most costly, trailing only Buckingham Palace. The house can survive an earthquake of magnitude 8 and can house 168 vehicles.

Biltmore Estate

This 1895 property was built by George Vanderbilt, and his heirs own and operate it today. The property has 75 acres of landscaped gardens and 35 bedrooms. Biltmore House is open for daily tours—they also have two hotels on the property for overnight guests.

Villa Leopolda

This palace is both comfortable and historically significant. It was built by King Leopold II of Belgium, who later gave the estate to his mistress.  Villa Leopolda was built more than a century ago and is brimming with his as well as extravagance. The 50-acre estate on the French Riviera was built by King Leopold II of Belgium and later given as a gift to one of his mistresses. There are 11 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms, as well as a commercial greenhouse. During World War I, the house was used as a military hospital, and it has featured in many films over the decades.

Witanhurst

It is the city’s greatest residential estate and is located in the Morumbi neighbourhood, next door to the city’s second-largest home. Despite the fact that it has hosted many weddings for Safra family members, there do not appear to be many pictures of the home online. The Safra family is as large as its house, and they own expensive real estate all over the world. The 130-room building is about 10,868 square metres in size and is enclosed by a high wall. It has two swimming pools.

Versailles

There are 32 bathrooms, 11 kitchens, 14 bedrooms, an arcade, a gym, a salon, and a movie theatre in the building. There is also storage in the garage for 30 cars and six pools to choose from. The home residence is still under development as of October 2019, but it should be finished within the next year or two.

Nile Niami, a speculative developer, has been teasing “The One” — a 100,000-square-foot mega-mansion in Bel-Air — for years. The interiors of The One, a five-acre estate in the high class Los Angeles suburb of Bel Air, have remained a highly protected secret. The estate seems to float above the area, surrounded on three sides by a lake and a 400-foot-long jogging track. It took eight years to complete and 600 staff to construct. The main entrance of the house, with its 26-foot-high ceilings, leads to a variety of gathering areas with panoramic 360-degree views of the Pacific Ocean, downtown Los Angeles, and the San Gabriel Ranges. Water fills the entrance room, which also includes a carving and a bridge.

Taohuayuan

If a lake view isn’t enough, you’ll need to invest in a swimming pool and pond as well. The landscaping is inspired by Suzhou’s Classical Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. These ancient gardens, which incorporate stones, water, and plants, are in the same city as Taohuayuan, a 72,441-square-foot mansion on Dushu Lake. It just made the cut at 64,389 square feet. It’s a 110,000-square-foot estate with the other buildings on the 63-acre site. Two bowling alleys, squash quarts, an indoor basketball court, a theatre with 164 seats.and a $150,000 hot tub are among the facilities.
