Sikhs Worship in Gurdwaras
Sikh sanctuaries are called gurdwaras {gur-DWAH-ruhs}, and that signifies “door or gateway to the Guru.” For this situation, the Guru is Waheguru, the Supreme Being. Gurdwaras come in all shapes and sizes, yet every one of them fly somewhere around one Sikh banner on their structure or grounds. The banners are orange or yellow and show the Sikh image, called the khanda. Prior to entering a gurdwara, all Sikhs cover their heads and take off their shoes. The most worshipped and most visited gurdwara is the Golden Temple in India.
