The 2019 fire cut down the tower
On 15 April 2019, the house of God burst into flames at 6.18pm, obliterating the tower, the oak edge and lead rooftop. Thirty minutes after the alarms were rung, a fire motor was called.
At 7.50pm the tower fell, cutting down a fountain of 750 tons of stone and lead. It was subsequently hypothesized that the fire was connected to continuous redesign work. By 9.45pm, the fire was at last managed.
It will be remade in the Gothic style
After the fire, President Macron recognized the calamity:
‘Notre Dame is our history, our literature, part of our psyche, the place of all our great events, our epidemics, our wars, our liberations, the epicentre of our lives … So I solemnly say tonight: we will rebuild it together.’
A day after Macron’s discourse, €880million was vowed to support the remaking of the church building. Regardless of numerous planners advancing a plenty of plans, incorporating one with a pool, the French government have affirmed it will reestablish the first middle age style.
